~ SELECTING YOUR OWN MASTECTOMY BRA ~
Our breast prostheses
can be held securely and comfortably by a variety of different bras.
If you choose to find your own mastectomy bra, you need to make sure it meets the following criteria:
Mastectomy Bra Criteria:
~ Full cup support
~ The bridge of the bra should be at least 80mm (approx. 3 1/4")
The bridge is the fabric that joins the two cups together at the front of the bra.
If the bridge is this high, it will indicate that the height of the cup will cover the breast form discretely.
The Correct Fitting:
To make sure that the bra will be suitable for holding your breast form securely and comfortably, check that the point of the tear shape is pointing mid-way between your neck and shoulder. It should be completely covered by the fabric of the cup of your bra.
